Some noticable Il Capitano quotes from Genshin Impact!

Capitano has been one of the major characters throughout the entire Archon quest of Natlan.

Genshin fans were deeply passionate about his role as a significant player throughout the events which occurred as a threat to Natlan and its people. Holding the title of the strongest human throughout Tavyat, Capitano was expected to have dominant impact in the story.

As I went through the Archon quest, I couldn’t help but note some of Capitano’s quotes which seemed to have noticeable meaning or were conveying certain things about his personality.

Victory and defeat are rules, not outcomes. I have never taken advantage of an opponent in a time of weakness, and I don’t intend to start now.

As for you… I must confess, I did not expect that little trick of yours to save the day.

If we allow the current state of things to continue, we will inevitably clash, and that’s a scenario that I’d very much like to avoid.

I’ve long heard of your exploits across the nations. Though you have crossed swords with my colleagues many times, I know that you’re by no means an unreasonable person.

And once you’ve learned the truth that the Pyro Archon, Mavuika, would never willingly share with you, you may just find it in your heart to consider my proposal.

My fear is that given the enormity of the decision, she will be reluctant to confront the dire reality we face until it is too late. There will be no time left to execute the backup plan, and all of Natlan will be lost to the Abyss.

We have to make the decision for her, here and now.

Since I was defeated in battle, I must put to rest my thoughts about the Gnosis. But even so, my desire to save Natlan remains unchanged.

The time for idle observation is over. It now falls on me to act. This nation is out of time.

When walking in the forest, it is only natural to encounter wild beasts. However, not every beast has the courage to come out and bite.

Abandoning one’s comrades is not the way of a warrior.

Humanity’s survival is worth any price. Once the Abyss runs rampant, all that remains will be a land of corpses and ruin.

You presume too much. If you cannot ensure survival in the present, you have no right to think about the future.

Why..? Because l am a survivor of Khaenri’ah. I’ve witnessed the devastation and terror of the Abyss with my own eyes.

That’s right. My family, my comrades, my homeland… were all lost to the Abyss.

It is an unforgettable pain, one that no amount of time could/ever dull… not even five hundred years. You’ve experienced something similar, Mavuika. You should know exactly what I mean.
Mavuika – You’re right. The pain, the regret, the catastrophe… they all haunt my dreams to this day…

Given enough time, a new civilization would inevitably flourish. If you believe in humanity, you should trust in their ability to create a new future.

From that moment, I made it my mission to aid Natlan. In battle, a warrior fights to win. Even though my homeland was lost,I was already committed to this fight.

He carries a degree of pain and hatred that far surpasses myown. – about Densailf

My appearance is much changed, and that’s not the only thing. Even my physical strength is a shadow of what it once was.
Mavuika – I would’ve never known. During our battle, it felt like I was fighting against the pinnacle of human strength.

Capitano – Still, it’s a shame we never faced off five hundred years ago. You could have seen what I was truly capable of.
Mavuika – I agree. Had we fought then, I’d also have been more motivated to go all out.

I imagine you held back since there were spectators around that could have gotten hurt. But, capitalizing on that situation would have only led to a hollow victory. It would have been no different than taking hostages.

My goal was the Gnosis, and I.failed to obtain it… That means I lost, plain and simple.

Although Capitano was considered to be one of the strongest beings in Tavyat, he was unfortunately defeated at the hands of Mavuika, the Pyro Archon in a battle where the stacks to win were thin, as she had to intentionally keep the intensity of the battle as lowered as possible, considering the safety of the people at the stadium.

The Captain later goes on to describe how he lost most of his valor which was once his ally during the time he served as a soldier in Khaenri’ah. His powers are not what they once used to be, as a result, he lost to Mavuika.

Although Capitano is no more, his popularity and contribution to the overall story are worthy of praise. 🥺
