Is there a horse in Fortnite?
Short answer? No, not really. The game does feature something called the King’s Parade Horse, which is actually designed to look sort of like a float at a parade, or maybe even like the Trojan horse from ancient myth.
This unique item is part of the Pumpkin King set, which was released in season 5 of the game. The item is actually a glider that allows you to traverse the map in style. It’s fun, but it’s not really what people think of when they look for horses in games.

Here’s the good news: Fortnite doesn’t insist that you walk. There are many alternative means of transportation within the game that are designed to allow you both freedom of motion and ample creativity as you find your own way of getting around the map. Vehicles

From there, you get slightly more complex options like the all-terrain cart, which is basically just a golf cart, and the quad crashers, which are more like bumper cars.
There are also airplanes, snowboard-like contraptions, and a vehicle called the Baller, which is a legendary item.
The Baller is a glass sphere with a mounted grappler that allows you to navigate the map in style. Then there are more fantastical (yes, even when compared to the Baller) options like the BRUTE, which is a big battle mech suit that looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie.
We could go on and on and on. Some of the vehicles are basic and familiar, like the taxicab. Others are not.
Animal Mounts
Fortnite currently allows players to choose from four different types of mounts. The process typically begins with taming your animal, which can be done using special items combined with the Hunter’s Cloak item. Once you’ve done that, you’re able to ride your mount throughout the map.
Each one is good at special things. Raptors, for example, have a high jump. Sharks are great for traversing the water, although it should be noted that they are not exactly rideable. It’s more like you’re being pulled with a fishing pole.
Then there are boars, which can be used both as a fast means of transportation (note that they are the swiftest animal mounts in the game) and as a weapon. Boars can use their sharp tusks to ram enemies.
Finally, wolves. Wolves are slow and steady mounts of the Fortnite world. They have loads of stamina, which means they’re able to go without interruption for a long time, but they don’t move as quickly as the boar or the raptor.
Will Fortnite ever add a more typical horse to the game? It’s hard to say right now. The mounts are fantastical and a little absurd. Horses don’t exactly complement the current theming around animal mounts. That doesn’t mean things won’t change eventually. The game is constantly adding new elements. It’s very easy to imagine a world where a horse mount could be one of them, even if it does involve a Fortnite twist.
